Performance on hardness is not seriously disputed: multiple long-term owner reviews and third-party writeups report soft water within a day and salt consumption low enough to refill every few months. What the buyer gives up is verification. Aquasure states in its own product Q and A that the Harmony softeners are not NSF/ANSI 44 rated, and the company's entire NSF listing covers two RO membrane part numbers certified for material and structural integrity only. The control head is the other weak point: owners consistently describe the four-button interface as unreadable without the manual, and Reddit reports valve failures after a few years. Against a certified Rheem or a dealer Clack at twice the price, this is a straightforward money-for-assurance trade, and it is the Harmony unit where that trade makes the most sense.
