This is the standard Rhino with catalytic carbon substituted for the carbon and KDF pairing, and it is the only Aquasana whole house filter with a published chloramine number. The 83% chloramine figure is well short of the 97% chlorine figure, which is honest media performance rather than a shortfall. The decision rests entirely on your utility's disinfectant, which is printed in the annual water quality report.

The Rhino Chloramines replaces the standard Rhino's carbon and KDF combination with 100% catalytic carbon in both tanks. Catalytic carbon has the higher surface area needed to break down chloramine, the chlorine-ammonia compound many municipalities now use in place of free chlorine.
It is independently tested to NSF/ANSI Standard 42 to reduce up to 83% of chloramines and up to 97% of chlorine, for 1,000,000 gallons or up to 10 years. Rated flow is 7.0 GPM with a 10.3 GPM peak, and the tank is WQA certified to NSF/ANSI/CAN Standard 61.
Check your municipal water quality report before choosing between this and the standard Rhino. If your utility uses free chlorine, the standard model does the same job for $800 less. If it uses chloramine, standard carbon will exhaust quickly and this is the correct system.
