Usability
Flow rate is the whole argument. Contaminant reduction and certification are identical across the Claryum line, so what $200 over the 2-Stage buys is 0.72 GPM instead of 0.5 and 800 gallons instead of 500. If the thing that would annoy you about an under sink filter is standing at the tap, this is the one to buy; if it is not, you are paying for a spec you will not notice.

The Claryum 3-Stage Max Flow is the top of Aquasana's non-RO under sink range. It keeps the 5 micron pre-filter and two Claryum cartridges of the 3-Stage but runs them at a higher rate, lifting flow from 0.5 GPM to 0.72 GPM and capacity from 600 gallons to 800.
Certification matches the rest of the Claryum line: WQA tested and certified to NSF/ANSI 42, 53 including P473, and 401, for 99.995% of cysts, 99.6% of microplastics and lead, 99.7% of PFOA and PFOS, 97.3% of chlorine and 91% of chloramines, with PFAS tested to 20 parts per trillion.
The 44% flow increase is the reason to pay the premium. At 0.5 GPM a Claryum system is noticeably slow filling a pot; at 0.72 GPM it stops being something you wait on.
