This configuration is honest in a way most iron filtration marketing is not: Express Water publishes the limit as 0.2 ppm iron and 0.05 ppm manganese, and a buyer who tests their well first will know immediately whether it applies. Below those figures, Zeomangan in a cartridge is a low-maintenance answer to nuisance staining with no backwash, no drain and no air injection. Above them - and most iron wells run several ppm - the cartridge blinds off quickly and this is the wrong product entirely, which is where the four-month replacement reports in the whole house range likely originate. The stack also handles chlorine, chloramine and hydrogen sulfide alongside, which is a useful combination for a mixed problem. As with everything else in the whole house range there is no NSF certification and the warranty is one year on a $548 fixture.

The Iron and Manganese configuration uses sediment, a Zeomangan oxidising media cartridge and activated carbon block. Express Water rates the media for up to 0.2 ppm iron and 0.05 ppm manganese, which is a low ceiling for well water. Rated at 0.25 gallons per second with 1 in connections, a filter set life of up to 100,000 gallons or six to twelve months, and no backwash cycle.
