FilterSmart FS1000 PRO Whole House Filter with UV 15 GPM
The largest carbon tank plus UV disinfection, for four to six bathroom homes on well or at-risk supplies.

Usability
At 2,975.50 dollars this is the top of FilterSmart's whole-house line, and the case for it is narrow: a four to six bathroom home on a private well or an at-risk supply, where you need both chlorine and taste treatment and microbiological protection at the point of entry. On that specification it does the job, and the upflow carbon tank is still the easiest kind of whole-house filter to install because there is no drain and no backwash. The missing UV dose figure is a more serious omission at 15 GPM than at 12. UV dose falls as flow rises, so the same lamp that is adequate at 12 GPM may not be at 15, and FilterSmart publishes no mJ/cm2 rating, no validated flow and no NSF/ANSI 55 listing for the chamber, which is the standard that exists precisely to settle this. The bundle economics are the same as the smaller PRO: the premium over the plain 15 GPM filter is 1,485.50 dollars against an AquaUV listed separately at 1,585.50 dollars, so almost nothing is saved by buying them together. Add the annual lamp, the sleeve cleaning and the mains outlet, and the low-maintenance argument that sells the rest of the range no longer holds.
- Combines the largest carbon bed in the range with point-of-entry UV disinfection
- Chemical-free microbiological treatment with no taste or byproduct penalty
- Carbon stage retains the 1,000,000 gallon or 5 year guarantee
- Lifetime warranty on tanks and valve heads
- Upflow carbon stage still needs no drain and no backwash
- No NSF/ANSI 55 certification and no published UV dose, which matters more at 15 GPM because dose falls as flow rises
- Most expensive configuration in the whole-house line at 2,975.50 dollars
- Bundling saves almost nothing against buying the AquaUV separately at 1,585.50 dollars
- Needs mains power, an annual lamp change and sleeve cleaning
- About 58 in tall with the valve head plus a separate UV chamber, so plan the wall and floor space
- No system-level certification or published contaminant reduction data for the carbon stage
This is the 15 GPM carbon tank paired with FilterSmart's AquaUV chamber, aimed at four to six bathroom homes that also need microbiological treatment. The carbon stage is the 10 in by 54 in tank with the same 1,000,000 gallon or five year guarantee; the UV stage adds a powered stainless steel chamber with a quartz sleeve and an annual lamp change. It is the most expensive configuration in the whole-house line at 2,975.50 dollars.
