A softener does something no filter in this catalogue does: it removes the calcium and magnesium that cause scale, using ion exchange rather than filtration. That is what stops limescale in kettles, extends water heater life and lets soap lather properly. At 32,000 grains and 28 litres of resin the WHR01 is sized for an average household, and at $2,499 it is by a wide margin the most expensive product Waterdrop sells. It stands 48 inches tall, weighs 93.3 pounds and is indoor only. Softened water is not filtered water, so it pairs with a drinking water system rather than replacing one.
- Removes hardness rather than filtering it, which no other Waterdrop product does
- 32,000 grain capacity suits an average household
- 28 litres of resin
- Protects water heaters and appliances from scale
- By far the most expensive product in the range at $2,499
- Indoor installation only
- 48 inches tall and 93.3 pounds
- Softens but does not filter, so a drinking system is still needed
- Ion exchange adds sodium to the water
The WHR01 is a 32,000 grain ion exchange water softener holding 28 litres of resin, for indoor installation on the main line.
