Usability
The K19-S solves the problem that stops most people buying RO: it needs no plumbing at all. Fill the 170 oz tank, plug it into a wall socket, and it produces RO water on the counter with a 3:1 pure-to-drain ratio and a display showing TDS and remaining filter life. Certification is better than most of the Waterdrop range — NSF/ANSI 42, 58 and 372 — and filters run about $75 a year, the cheapest here. The trade-offs are the ones inherent to countertop RO: you refill a tank by hand, it occupies counter space, and throughput is a fraction of an under-sink unit. For renters and anyone unwilling to drill a sink, that is a fair exchange.
