WiFi monitoring, but no cold charging

  • What it is: a 51.2 V, 100 Ah LiFePO4 server rack battery with a touchscreen, Bluetooth and WiFi for 48 V solar and backup systems
  • The trade-off: remote monitoring and closed-loop ports, but no heater and a warranty that depreciates after year two
  • Conflict: the manual and the page differ on weight, charge temperature and box contents
  • Look elsewhere for: charging below freezing or more than 100 A from one battery

Strengths

  • Remote WiFi monitoring and OTA updates
  • Bluetooth app and touchscreen at the rack
  • Closed-loop CAN and RS485 ports
  • Expands in parallel without rewiring
  • Front breaker cuts the whole battery

Drawbacks

  • No heatercharging stops near freezing
  • Continuous current only matches its capacity
  • Warranty depreciates after the second year
  • Two more warranty years only after a review
  • No IP rating for damp spaces
  • Manual and page differ on weight and box contents

  • Cabin: an r/solar owner running two 12V 100Ah units for ten months reported balanced cells and no capacity loss he could detect (about March 2026)
  • Caveats: the same owner found the app dated, with disconnects at range, and the documentation in the box sparse (about March 2026)
  • Outdoor use: in an r/SolarDIY thread on the wall battery, a reply said it is an indoor battery despite its IP65 rating, and another pointed to Will Prowse's mostly positive tests (July 2025)
  • Track record: an r/SolarDIY reply called Vatrer generally good batteries but said the record depends on the model (September 2026)
