The ULTRA1500 Read 82 Against 165 Before Its Touchscreen

The ULTRA1500 is Hooga's full-length quad-chip panel, a 340 sq in face with 300 LEDs at 630, 660, 810 and 850 nm, a touchscreen, remote and 1 to 30-minute timer, at $1,399 with a door mount, hanging kit and linking cord. Light Therapy Insiders, which earns commission from Hooga and from rival brands, measured it in 2024 at 81.7 mW/cm2 averaged over nine points at 6 in and 104 at peak on a spectrometer, against the 165 Hooga states, with output near 60 at the edges of the 8.6 in face. That unit had button controls and a fixed 10 Hz pulse, so the reading describes an earlier build and output is not scored; Hooga's certifications page cites the same figures. It is listed with the FDA under Shenzhen Sungrow LED Technology's exempt ILY registration, with no 510(k) or finished-product safety listing. Its own Amazon file reads 4.1 from 15, 71 percent five-star against 20 percent one-star. The warranty is 3 years.

The Hooga ULTRA1500 is the full-length panel in Hooga's quad-chip ULTRA line: 39.5 x 8.6 x 2.5 in and 28 lb in Hooga's chart, with 300 quad-chip 5 W LEDs at 630, 660, 810 and 850 nm, several fans, a touchscreen, a remote that links ULTRA panels, red and near-infrared dimming, near-infrared pulsing and a 1 to 30-minute timer. Hooga rates it at 1,500 W of LED class and 525 W of output power, with 190 mW/cm2 at 3 in and 165 at 6 in. The manual suggests 2 to 3 minutes at 18 in for surface use and 5 to 10 minutes at 6 to 12 in. The $1,399 price includes a door mount, a hanging kit with an adjustable pulley, a series-linking cord and goggles; the Compact 1500/750 Stand is $199, the vertical or horizontal stand $299 and a wall mount $49.

A few r/redlighttherapy owners name the ULTRA1500, and they mostly comment on setup and delivery rather than on how the panel holds up. In July 2025 a buyer who ordered during Hooga's sale said it arrived three days later, and a December 2024 owner who runs two of them side by side said the whole household uses them and that the owner raises and lowers them with the included pulley. In December 2025 an owner who bought Hooga's vertical stand with a single panel said it looked far too bulky for one panel. No failure, noise or warranty report names the ULTRA1500.

One tester has written up the ULTRA1500 by hand. Light Therapy Insiders, which earns commission from Hooga and also from rival brands whose codes appear in the same article (Mito, PlatinumLED, LightpathLED), averaged 81.7 mW/cm2 at 6 inches over nine points on a spectrometer, with a 104 peak. Output fell to about 60 near the edges of the 8.6-inch-wide panel. It measured 139 W of total light, or $9.10 per watt, plus 44.5 dB of noise and 0.2 µT at 6 inches. The same reviewer placed the panel 4th of 17 on power and 6th overall in the 2024 comparison. He praised the quietness, the controls and the finish. He faulted the narrow width, the high cord exit, the coarse dimming and the single 10 Hz pulse, and said Hooga's published irradiance and dosing figures were far above his readings.

One channel has reviewed the ULTRA1500 hands-on. Alex Fergus says in the video that he is affiliated with Hooga and earns commission, and his description also carries codes for Mito, PlatinumLED and LightpathLED. His review (March 2024, about 13,400 views, 15 minutes) measured 81.7 mW/cm2 on average and 104 at peak at 6 inches with a spectrometer, plus 44.5 dB and 0.2 µT. He liked the button panel's feel and contrast, the charcoal finish and the carry grip. He disliked the narrow 8.6-inch width, the power cable exiting high on the back and Hooga's inflated published output. His 17-panel comparison (February 2024) and his Top-10 power video (April 2024, about 13,700 views, labelled "Includes paid promotion") ranked it 4th on power at 82 mW/cm2.

The ULTRA1500 listing, sold by Hooga Health at $1,399, averages 4.1 stars from 15 ratings. The split is bimodal: 71 percent five-star and 9 percent four-star against 20 percent one-star (about three ratings), with none in between. The listing sits in a size selector with the Ultra360, Ultra750 and Ultra4500, but each size carries its own rating file, so these figures are this panel's own. Amazon shows no review summary for a file this small. A second ASIN titled ULTRA1500 (B0HG19TNJ4) is unrated and currently unavailable.

Hooga is the trading name of Commerce Trading Group, LLC of New Berlin, Wisconsin, which sells direct from hoogahealth.com and through its own Amazon store; no major US retailer carries a Hooga device, so the retailer pool is empty at every level. Its Trustpilot profile reads 4.5 from 75 reviews, 80 percent five-star against 12 percent one-star. Hooga claimed the profile in January 2026 and has invited reviews since: seven of the 14 reviews written before the claim are one-star, against two of the 58 written since, and Hooga has answered every negative review. The recurring complaints there are return shipping charged to the buyer even on faulty units, pre-orders charged weeks before shipping, and support that answers first with an AI agent. The BBB rates Hooga B+ without accreditation, on a file opened in April 2026 with one complaint, resolved, and no Hooga device has been recalled.
