Celluma's Small Panel, Sold Under Five Names

The Celluma HOME is a flexible 16 by 8 inch LED panel with 236 LEDs at 465, 640 and 880 nm, a built-in battery and two facial rest stands, and the same panel is sold with more modes as the FACE, LITE, RESTORE and NOVA at $795 to $1,595. FDA's database lists the Series 2 HOME under BioPhotas' own K171323 and K232977, which describe a shape-taking LED panel at those wavelengths with 30-minute treatments, so it scores 7 on verification; those filings describe an AC-powered panel and the Series 2 adds a battery, while Intertek's directory carries no listing. No output measurement exists, so light output is not scored, and its eyebrow-to-chin coverage scores 5. Its two Amazon files read 4.4 from 32 and 4.3 from 11, and a Reddit owner finds it too small to cover the whole face at once. It is $795 on celluma.com.

PROS
  • Listed under BioPhotas' own 510(k)s, K171323 and K232977
  • Three published peaks: 465, 640 and 880 nm

  • 1 lb and drapes over wrists, knees or shoulders
  • 4.4 and 4.3 from 32 and 11 Amazon ratings

CONS
  • No safety listing in Intertek's directory
  • No output figure or measurement published
  • Covers eyebrow to chin, not the whole face
  • Every session runs 30 minutes
  • Battery given as 3 to 15 sessions on its page and 3 to 4 in its FAQ
  • $815 on Amazon against $795 on celluma.com

The Celluma HOME is Celluma's small flexible LED panel, 16 by 8 inches with a 14 by 6 inch treatment area, carrying 236 LEDs at 465, 640 and 880 nm. The Series 2 runs from a built-in 7,000 mAh battery or its USB-C power supply, weighs 1 lb and comes with two facial rest stands and goggles, and runs 30-minute sessions on two modes. The same panel is sold with different modes as the FACE ($795, two modes), the LITE ($1,195, three), the RESTORE ($1,195, three) and the NOVA ($1,595, five). A third year of warranty is $89, and Celluma's warranty covers the panel for 2 years.

Celluma is made by BioPhotas, Inc. of Tustin, California, a privately held company founded by Patrick Johnson and run since 2024 by chief executive Curtis Cluff; FDA lists BioPhotas as the manufacturer of every Celluma device, under 510(k)s it holds itself. It sells through celluma.com, an Amazon store it runs for its single panels and POD, Nordstrom and Bloomingdale's (the latter through a third-party seller), and a professional channel that sells to clinics and spas and pays professionals a commission on their clients' orders; a public affiliate programme opened in May 2026. Its Trustpilot profile reads 4.1 from 30 reviews, 67 percent five-star against 23 percent one-star, with 13 posted in the last 12 months; Celluma claimed the profile in September 2025, Trustpilot records no review invitations from it and no replies to negative reviews in the past year, and nine five-star reviews arrived in the month it claimed the profile. Complaints there cover restocking fees, refused returns of opened devices and slow support. The BBB rates BioPhotas A, not accredited, with 2 complaints in three years, both about repairs. FDA's recall database holds no Celluma entry, its adverse-event database holds one 2022 consumer report of a skin reaction on a Series 1 DELUX, and no federal suit names the company. The review widget on celluma.com is first-party and counts in no pool, and Rundown with Rachel's Celluma videos count in no pool because the channel carries a CurrentBody discount code. Celluma's warranty gives every device 2 years, with a third year for sale. Unused devices may be returned within 30 days, less 10 percent for damaged packaging or 20 percent for a broken seal, and a device switched on for 10 minutes or more counts as used and is not refunded. Nordstrom and Bloomingdale's together hold 7 reviews of Celluma devices, under the ten-review floor, so the retailer pool is blank. On this row four pools are populated; web coverage reads Celluma's small panel without naming the HOME.
