Usability
The RO-CTOP-C exists for people who cannot drill a countertop or cut into a drain line, which covers most renters and anyone in a kitchen they do not own. Its strongest attribute is that it needs nothing permanent: a diverter clamps onto the aerator thread of a standard faucet and the whole unit packs into its case when the lease ends. Its weakest is the diverter itself, which ties up the kitchen tap while the system is running and will not fit a pull-down or spray faucet without an adapter APEC does not supply. There is no certification, which puts it behind the ROES-50 at a higher price on the one axis with third-party evidence. The buyer is paying for portability and the absence of installation, and giving up a permanent faucet, a storage tank and any listing.
- No plumbing, no drilling and no drain saddle required
- Ships with a carrying case and moves between homes
- 90 GPD production matched to the under-sink Ultimate models
- Standard replaceable cartridges rather than sealed modules
- Assembled in California with lifetime technical support
- No certification of any kind, at a higher price than the certified ROES-50
- Diverter occupies the kitchen faucet while the system runs
- Will not fit pull-down or spray faucets without an adapter APEC does not supply
- No storage tank, so output is limited by whatever the tap can feed
- Warranty is one year unless registered within eight weeks
