Lumebox is sold on thelumebox.com by LUMEBOX LLC of San Ramon, California, a Delaware company registered in California in March 2022 and managed by its co-founder, Dr. Vivian Chen, who holds the LUMEBOX trademark in her own name (first use January 2022). FDA’s establishment records list Lumebox under its own complaint-file registration in San Ramon and name Dongguan Heron Opto Co., Ltd. of Guangdong, China, whose US agent is Lumebox LLC, as the maker of the device listed as Lumebox.
Lumebox sells one light device, the Lumebox 2.0, a 15-LED handheld at 660 nm red and 850 nm near-infrared that replaced the original Lumebox in December 2023. It has no 510(k): FDA lists it under the 510(k)-exempt ILY code as model LB-001A, a listing that involves no premarket review, and the product page calls it FDA-registered. Its manual names IEC 60601 and IEC 62471 safety standards, but no report is published and neither Intertek’s nor UL’s directory lists a Lumebox device. Lumebox publishes SGS irradiance and EMF charts from 2022, taken on the original Lumebox; the full reports are not published. FDA’s databases hold no Lumebox recall or adverse event.
The Lumebox 2.0 is $629 on thelumebox.com and $399 at Nordstrom, and creator codes routinely take $260 off the list price. Lumebox also sells the tilting stand ($59), a replacement handle ($19.95), charger ($29.95), carry case ($24.95) and goggles ($19.95). The device carries a 1-year limited warranty that excludes units bought from third parties; returns are taken within 30 days less the original shipping and a 15 percent restocking fee.
Lumebox has no Trustpilot profile, and the BBB rates LUMEBOX LLC B-, not accredited, with 6 complaints in three years, all answered and none resolved. Amazon US carries only third-party stands made to fit it.
